How much are you willing to trade your time viewing ads for free phone calls? We asked our readers this question in a recent VotebyPhone poll. Now Whistle Ads is bringing the question to the market with their new VoIP app for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. As their website proclaims, “Why pay to keep in touch?”

What’s the tradeoff? Users watch a 15 second audio commercial, and can then dial an outbound VoIP call for free. For more details about the Whistle Phone app, from a user’s perspective, read TMCnet’s blog review.

For advertisers, though, this opens an interesting new medium to target potential customers on their most frequently used device – whether its their iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch. Google and Walgreens are already advertising on the Whistle Phone app. What’s great about this medium is that the customers are already focused on the app, since they are about to place a phone call – so you can catch them in a quite attentive state.

How would you create an ad for the Whistle Phone app?
