Ifbyphone, a leading provider of cloud telephony, just released a series of screencasts all about the basics of cloud telephony. In the back to school spirit, these tutorials are aimed at guiding businesses through each of Ifbyphone’s applications.
All of the buzzwords of cloud telephony, like virtual call center, call routing, find me forwarding, click to call, voice broadcasting, google analytics integration, etc. can be quite intimidating, especially for SMBs with little background in the cloud telephony space. While Ifbyphone’s screencasts show the specific benefits of Ifbyphone’s services, I would recommend them for anyone interested in learning the ABC’s of cloud telephony.
When coming across a new term, I often read wikipedia, google a term, or read dozens of websites’ explanations of a service. Still, no method matches a screencasts’ ability to portray a complicated matter in a simple way (if they’re done well, of course).
Take Google Voice, for example, which we wrote a bunch about last month. Every time that Google releases a new service, they release a screencast. Try to tell your friends or coworkers the message of a screencast in 100 words, and you’ll see that it’s much easier to send them a url linking to a video tutorial.
