Remote Control Voice Broadcasting

by Rocky on February 1, 2010

When hearing the word “remote control” my first image association is usually a television remote control. If its holiday season, then maybe the word “remote control” triggers images of remote control cars, trucks and airplanes. But, whatever the association, I usually think of some small black or grey rectangular shaped device, not an ordinary phone.

CallFire just released a video about their new feature of remote control voice broadcasting. If you’re looking for a typical picture of remote control in their video, you won’t find it. Instead you’ll see a classic icon of a cell phone, and a description of how you can schedule voice broadcasts through your phone, “when you just can’t work from your PC.”

For smartphone users who can access web browsers through their cell phone, the concept of setting up a voice broadcast by phone may be more convenient, but it is not revolutionary. Although the screen may be small, they can just go online from anywhere and input the information. But, for non-smartphone users, the ability to schedule voice broadcasts by phone makes a big difference, especially for people who are constantly on the go.

This is definitely a cool feature. Anyone interested in this type of technology should also check out Ifbyphone's suite of services. We have had a feature where people can call in, record a message and send out a broadcast like this for about a year.
